This is a reminder about the uniform exchange coming up Tuesday, August 1st and Wednesday, August 2nd. The exchange will be held in the MPR at Roy Gomm from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. both days.
If you have any uniforms you would like to donate for the exchange, please drop them off at the school by Monday, July 31st.
The uniform exchange is a free service made possible by generous donations from our families. Please plan to stop by and take a look as you prepare for back to school.
Also, remember we are doing a school supply drive this year and all donations will go to our sister school, Alice Smith. Please consider picking up some extra supplies while you are out shopping. Any type of supplies are appreciated. If you have any questions, contact Katie Thompson at email@example.com.
Dear Roy Gomm Families,
Welcome back to the 2017/2018 school year! We hope that you had a wonderful summer break with your families. The Parent Faculty Association (PFA) would like to welcome you back to what will be another great year. This year, two of the PFA’s primary goals are to continue to raise funds to enhance every child’s experience at Roy Gomm Elementary and to foster positive communication among the faculty, PFA, parents, and students.
Last year, with your help and donations, the PFA was able to raise a total of $100,000 which was vital in keeping important programs running for our children to enhance their education. These donations were able fund much needed enrichment instructors for the students such as a PE Teacher, RIT Teacher, Art instruction and materials and two Kindergarten/1st Grade Aides. Alongside funding enrichment instructors, we were also able to help fund necessary new technology for the teachers and basic necessities for the students including everything from printer ink and construction paper to field trips and scholarships for 6th Grade science camp. We are proud of these achievements and we want to sincerely thank each and every family who helped contribute to the efforts.
This year, with funds raised last year and hopefully this year as well, our goal is to purchase new playground equipment for both the upper field and lower field, new basketball hoops and replacement laptops for our teachers who need them. With our school’s “refresh” last summer, the inside of our school looks better than ever and this year we hope to update the outside. In order to continue to be successful, we need the continued support and involvement of our families, staff and community. Whatever level of participation you desire, your time and involvement is always appreciated, no matter how small.
Roy Gomm is a very special community thanks to you, the families and faculty who do so much to make it the amazing place it is for our children. We hope you know that we appreciate you and would like to invite you to join the PFA Membership and let us hear from you about how we can better support the student’s educational needs and the school community as a whole.

(Your 2017-18 PFA Presidents)
Dear Gomm Families,
Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! I am always excited to begin a new school year and to see the students and families.
The Gomm community continues to amaze me. The parent support at Gomm is second to none and truly makes difference in the education of our students. Our teachers and staff are professional, hardworking, and they always put students first. Our students always come prepared to learn and they are polite and respectful. All of these things make me grateful to be a part of Roy Gomm Elementary.
Whether you are new to Gomm or returning I urge all of our parents to get involved with our Parent Faculty Association (PFA). This organization accomplishes great things each year and is invaluable to the success of our school. I can’t wait to see what the PFA has in store for this year.
Lastly, thank you for entrusting us with the education of your children. We, as a staff, take great pride in what we do and we will work hard to make each student successful. Please let me know of any concerns or questions that may arise.
